But what if we told you that there are ways to move your body and feel better without having to do something you hate? It turns out there are tons of totally free activities that burn calories and help you feel great. Try these five exercises the next time you’re feeling unmotivated:
The most important thing to remember is that exercise is supposed to be fun. If you don’t enjoy it, then you’re not going to keep doing it—and the more time you spend trying to make yourself do something you hate, the less time you have for things you actually enjoy.
So let’s start by talking about what kinds of exercise are actually enjoyable. For starters, there are some sports where the challenge itself is part of the fun
1. Swimming
Swimming is an exercise that increases blood circulation, strengthens the muscles and bones of the body, improves digestion, helps to eliminate toxins from the body, improves mood, and relieves stress. It is also beneficial for those who suffer from diseases of the heart, lungs, and kidneys.
It’s good for your health, and it’s fun! It’s also a great form of exercise if you have a disability because it can be done in the water.
One of the most common ways to swim is by using the front crawl stroke. This involves moving your arms forward at an angle so that they move away from your body and then back toward your body again. You’ll need to do this quickly so that you create a wave-like motion with your arms.
You can also use breaststroke or backstroke if you want to change things up a bit. These two strokes are similar: they use one arm at a time while kicking back and forth with the other leg.
If you want to swim laps, try using freestyle or butterfly strokes instead!
2. Dancing
It’s a great way to get in shape and have fun at the same time.
When you dance, your body moves in ways that it doesn’t when you’re walking or running. You’ll be using your arms and legs in ways that are normally more difficult to do when you’re not dancing!
Dancing can help you lose weight, too! The more you dance, the more calories you burn—and with all the different types of dances out there, you’re sure to find one that keeps your heart rate up while giving your body a workout.
3. Walking
Taking a walk can be a fun way to exercise. You don’t need any fancy equipment or lots of time to get in shape. You just need some good walking shoes and the desire to get moving.
Walking is the perfect workout for people who don’t have a lot of spare time, but still want to be fit and healthy. It only takes about 20 minutes to get your heart pumping, which means you can squeeze in a quick walk after work or school, or even before bedtime.
Walking is a low-impact activity that doesn’t require any special equipment or training. It’s even enjoyable! When you go for a walk, you get some fresh air, see and smell things like flowers and trees, and hear birds chirping and squirrels scampering through the grass. You might also see people with whom you can chat or even make new friends!
If you’re not used to exercising every day, try starting out with shorter walks. A half-hour walk is enough to start building up your endurance, so it’s better than nothing! If you’re already an active person who loves being outdoors, then maybe try going for an hour-long stroll instead.
Don’t forget that there are lots of ways to enjoy walking besides just going from point A to point B! You could take a hike through some woods or along a riverbank if there’s one nearby; go bird-watching; go running with friends, or even just take your dog out on his leash (if he likes it).
4. Play Video Games
Whether you’re after a fitness workout or simply looking for new and exciting games to keep you mentally stimulated, video games are a great way to achieve both. The industry has grown this past decade with digital games even outselling physical copies. Playing these types of games has several benefits. Video games can serve as an excellent outlet for stress relief and allow you to forget about the problems in your life temporarily. They can be used to improve your motor skills and hand-eye coordination while providing an entertaining experience, something that many other hobbies don’t offer.
5. Tennis
Tennis can be a really good form of exercise, but if you’re not fit yourself it’s not going to help much. It’s important that you lead a healthy lifestyle and have some basic knowledge about tennis before you start playing as you need to be in training before you play. I looked at what makes tennis an effective exercise and realized that it can have many benefits.
